<Story>

Jonas asked Giver about the meaning of “release” and the reason why the previous Receiver was released in 10 years ago.  Giver finally answered  one of  Jonas’s questions. The female  Receiver’s name was Rosemary whose name has been never used in the community after she was released. She was very young intelligent woman who was always calm and eager to learn every memories. Givers loved her, and he felt pain when he transmited negative memories which makes her sad and feel pain. However, it was Giver’s job, and he had to. The time which Giver gave her training was only five weeks. The last day, Giver gave her the memories such as poverty, hunger and terror. After this lessen, she kissed Giver’s cheek and left the building. That day, she visited the Chief Elder to ask to be released. That was the reason of her releasing.

<Impression>

Sad, but I understood that she gave up her life in the community. In our society, there are thousands of people who gave up their life and do suicide. People said that they are too serious and better not to be so strict to yourself.  It might be over her capacity or this job might be not suitable with young female. It was like an accident, but at the same time, I suppose that Receiver is something like… the position to clean up the whole community’s mess. Living dictionary!!! Oh, such a terribly hard life. Please hire more members to make pain divide into several Receivers. Why not!?

 In our society, there is no such position, but we have YouTube and well-made archive materials which many people are allowed to access. We can’t experience them physically, but 3D technology is trying to make the distance closer between 2D materials and experienceable 3D materials. It is including true story and fake story, too. However, we have rights to study them by ourselves, so we can be much clever actually…..hahahah. Can’t we? During reading this book, I’m keep asking one question to myself…. “What does release means?”  Jonas asked Giver, but he haven’t answered yet.  To camouflage the word of “Death” with “Release” can help people not having fear? They should have another position which DO clean up the whole community’s mess. Where is the bead body? Oh, come on, how the story is going to be ended? Give me happy end!
