Chapter19

<Story>
There was one remaining question which is about release. Giver  didn’t stop Jonas to keep asking questions. That is because Receiver is allowed to ask questions. The day, Jonas had one issue on his mind. Jonas’ Father had a mission in the morning. It is about selecting one newborn baby from twins.Giver showed the recorded video to Jonas instead of telling him the story. In the community, each  private ceremony is recorded by video. Whole process about release was exposed in front of Jonas. Release meant “killing people”. The harsh reality gave him huge shock since his own father did release a baby.

*******************************************************************************

<Impression>
To release meant killing people. Oh, poor boy Jonas…. How terrible reality is that! Father looked not sad or difficult to release a tiny cute baby at all. I doubt ordinary citizens may not have normal sense. I see. I see. In the community they may not have negative feeling as “sadness”.
Now, I worried about Jonas more…. Can he accept his killer Father? How can he continue to live with his family normally? Jonas could suicide. Young people’s mind  is much keener than ordinary adults, and have a strong sense of justice. I hope he can find the way to escape from this situation. The one thing I really don’t wish is that Jonas discloses all memories with his own release.
